Regional Community Convenor (RCC)

Jordan Health Aid Society International is a non-governmental and non-profit organization founded in 2005 in Jordan. It was established to ensure resilience and development of communities through utilizing its capacity in health as an access to reach vulnerable groups where needed. JHASi provides services to all communities regardless of nationality, ethnicity, gender and religion.

JHASi develops a direction for its future which articulates around its vision and mission, goals and interventions. JHASi’s strategy is formulated within the theory of social change where resources are utilized to this overall direction and purpose. In addition, JHASi adopts mechanisms that promote the sustainability of itself and projects implemented.

Dr. Yaroup Ajlouni, CEO and Founder of JHASi

Dr. Yaroup Ajlouni is a physician and non-profit entrepreneur who bridges medical practice and theory of international politics to develop global health services. In 2005, he founded Jordan Health Aid Society, a leading humanitarian organization that fights global poverty and provides lifesaving assistance in emergencies. During the last decade, JHAS has offered its services and aid to over 600K unique beneficiaries in the region.

Mo'nes Qudah, Communication Coordinator - Project Management

Mo'nes is a highly skilled professional with a Master's degree in Computer Information Systems and a distinguished career spanning over a decade within humanitarian non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Possessing extensive expertise in data collection, analysis, project design, and implementation, Mo'nes has consistently demonstrated the ability to effectively utilize technology to address critical global issues. With a steadfast commitment to bridging the divide between data-driven insights and humanitarian action.

Dr. Duha Al Omari, Project Coordinator

Duha Al-Omari is a professional with a broad background in project management, fundraising, program support, and quality assurance across various sectors. Currently serving as a Project Coordinator at the Jordan Health Aid Society, she excels in planning, monitoring, and stakeholder communication. Duha's experience includes successful roles as a Fundraising and Grants Officer and Projects Officer at different organizations. She holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and a bachelor’s in PharmD, with additional qualifications in Risk Management and Project Management. Her contributions also extend to research and policy implementation for refugees.

Dr. Rouba Katrina, Psychiatrist

Dr. Rouba Katreena is a highly qualified Psychiatrist with ten years of experience effectively treating patients with a wide range of mental health conditions. Specializing in children's mental health, trauma, and addiction, she adopts a holistic approach combining medication, active listening, and talk-centered counseling programs. She holds a Certificate from the Syrian Board and a Bachelor's in Human Medicine from Damascus University. Dr. Katreena has received additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Child Psychiatry, including autism. With a strong background in psychology and organic chemistry, she excels in diagnosing and treating patients, providing individual care plans, and collaborating with medical professionals.



Doctors Aid for Medical Activities (DAMA)

Doctors Aid for Medical Activities (DAMA) is a non-profit, non-governmental local Iraqi organization founded and registered in Erbil Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) in 2016 and, also registered in Baghdad in 2018. In 2016, DAMA started during the conflict with Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) crisis aiming to provide high quality medical care to individuals in need along with spreading awareness on healthy living and disease prevention.

Nabaz Mirani, President

Nabaz Al-Mirani is a prominent figure in the field of non-profit organization management, with a focus on healthcare and medical activities. He is best known as the President and founder of Doctors Aid for Medical Activities (DAMA), an organization dedicated to providing medical assistance and support in various regions in Iraq.Nabaz Al-Mirani completed his Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery (M.B.ch.b) from the esteemed Suleimania Medical Faculty

WHO, Eastern Mediterranean Region Office (EMRO), Regional Center for Environmental Health Action (CEHA)

The Regional Centre for Environmental Health Action (CEHA) is a centre of excellence for environmental health. It provides technical support to countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Region to reduce the toll of morbidity and premature mortality caused by modifiable environmental risk factors.

Mazen MAlkawi, Regional Advisor on Environmental Health, at the World Health Organization (WHO), Eastern Mediterranean Region Office (EMRO), Regional Center for Environmental Health Action (CEHA)

Mr. Malkawi is an active member in several international committees and task forces that are currently working on updating international guidance and standards on climate change and health, air quality, toxic chemicals, sand and dust storms, urban environment and transport and health. He participated in 100++ International, regional and national meetings on different environmental health aspects, and published 21 articles and chapters in refereed journals and books.

Alaa AbdelGawad

Senior at the undergraduate Bachelor’s of Pharmaceutical Sciences (BPharm) programme at Newgiza University. She was a member of the official COP27 Youth Taskforce, Green Development Youth Delegate at the 3rd Russian Egyptian Youth Forum. researcher at the 2019 CIESM Mediterranean Science Commission, president of the Climate Action Club initiative within university, and an active Climate Change and Health advocate within community.

Ashraf F. ALqudah

Clinical Psychology Associate Professor

Dr. Alqudah holds a PhD in clinical and medical psychology from the College of Public Health and Health Professions, University of Florida. He specializes in clinical and medical psychology, psychosocial support, psychology of crises, and psychology in conflict and post-conflict contexts. His area of research interest includes psychology in medical and health settings, psychology of refugees and displaced persons, and mental health and psychosocial support. He is also has worked on projects conducted by a number of local and international Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations

Dr Hamad Al Ghafri

H.E. Dr Hamad Al Ghafri is a Consultant Public Health Physician and Chair of the International Society for Addiction Medicine. He was the Director General and the Head of the WHO Collaborative Centre for substance use prevention and treatment of substance use disorders the National Rehabilitation Centre Abu Dhabi, until May 2022. He received his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Jordan University of Science and Technology in 1999 and his Masters in Public Health from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Tulane University, USA in 2002. He obtained his PhD from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom in 2013.

Maryam Al Shamlan

Ms. Maryam is a health inspector at the Environmental Health section at the Ministry of Public Health since 2015. Her career at MOPH is well aligned with her academic background in Environmental Sciences. Currently, she is working on different environmental related aspects including ambient and indoor air quality, Recreational Water Quality, and medical waste management. received several opportunities in diverse set of studies related to environmental stressors causing human health impacts.

Karam Saad Salman

MHPSS Advisor

Psychologist with 9 years of working in the humanitarian sector, providing MHPSS training and capacity building for NGOs staff. In addition to preparing MHPSS guidelines, provide training for MHPSS staff and work on capacity building, follow-up MHPSS activities and work to achieve them through quantitative and qualitative assessments.
